Man's Hand on the Landscape

All too often we read about or see first-hand the destruction of wild spaces and habitat as a result of oil spills, acid rain, logging, mining, and pollution; all acts of mankind. It's easy to forget man is part of nature too, and is capable of restoration and preservation of beautiful places. The pictures in this gallery represent the hand of man on the landscape. Sometimes this is as simple as an old fence along the edge of a woods, or a well-worn path through the trees. Whether "improvements" or not, often the beauty of these signs of man can't be denied.
