Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness (4), Montana

The pictures here were made during a September, 2025 multi-day backpacking trip into the above-named wilderness. The hike started at the Lake Fork (of Rock Creek) trailhead in Montana. We camped at Broadwater Lake on our first and last nights, and camped for three nights at Keyser Brown Lake. We made several day hikes from that base camp. Unlike previous hikes where the photography was done with a cell phone, the photos here were made with more capable, higher resolution camera. See our 'Gear' page for details.

The photos here are shown in the order in which they were made. We'll be adding pictures to this gallery over the next several weeks.

We have photos of Island Lake from an earlier car-camping trip, when we stayed in the Forest Service campground and did some day hiking.
